Capital XTRA National live
Capital XTRA National live – a London radio station that operates on FM frequencies 96.6 and 107.1. It has been functioning since 1990. To date, the focus, style of broadcasting, and project name have remained, although the broadcasting formats have changed. Listeners are now invited to join not only on FM frequencies but also through other means, such as «DAB», «Sky», «Virgin Media», and various options including the internet.
This significantly expands the audience, which is now not limited to just London and its surroundings. Initially, the music station was independent and operated under its own management. Its own studio is located in Trinity Gardens in Brixton.
Among its achievements: Capital XTRA National – a project that was the first in the whole of the UK to operate around the clock, and with a licence. This official status allowed for advertising contracts, which facilitated the upgrading of equipment and the refreshing of broadcasting formats.
